In recent months, a number of people I have been blessed to know, have experienced significant health issues. Because of my passion for wellness, I've been wondering how I could help them and you live a more heart healthy life on a physical and energetic level. To share what I've learned from nearly 30 years of energy work, I began compiling a list of insights and actions I've taken that have made a difference in my life.
My goal for posting this blog is to help you become more heart healthy and energy aware. By implementing these insights and actions, you are making an investment in your present and future health. May each of these insights inspire you and your loved ones to act, where you see fit, so you can continue to live a life that's well-lived and well-loved.
When we think about the heart, most of us know it's important to eat right and exercise to live a healthy life. What we don't hear, however, is that the negative energies, experiences, and emotions we hold onto, express/don't express, can harm our heart, body, and spirit on a physical and energetic level.
Unexpressed emotions that get stuffed and swallowed like shame, a broken heart, abuse, disappointments, and betrayals that result from relationships, family dynamics, divorces, deaths, layoffs, and work can create energy blocks in your energy system. These blockages reduce the flow of energy through your meridians and subtle bodies, which play a crucial role in your health and well-being. When this happens, major organ systems (respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, etc.) don't get the energy nourishment they need, and one's vitality, joy and energy levels can decrease.
To help you stay heart healthy, I've outlined 12 energy-based insights and actions you can take to clear and strengthen your energy system.
1) Let go of past hurts and burdens. From shame and abuse to betrayal and more, holding on to negative experiences and their wounds can negatively impact your physical and energetic bodies. What you can do: To release the energy from these experiences, I offer sessions and workshops in pattern recognition and release work. Once you learn the techniques, you can apply them to anything that does not support you. To learn more, visit my services page.
2) Examine what you believe. As adults, we can choose what we believe. But sometimes, we unconsciously hold beliefs from past experiences or events that are not ours. Yet, the energy continues to run in our system. When this happens, these beliefs draw to you what you do not want rather than what you do want. If you haven't examined your belief system lately, now is the perfect time. What you can do: Find a quiet place. Think about a situation you heard or experienced. Ask yourself: Is this something I believe? If the answer is No, say I release this belief. Then, Detach. And move to the next one.
3) Forgive and pardon. Forgiving and pardoning negative behaviors can be challenging. But, when grudges are held and forgiveness withheld, negative energy can fester in the body like an open wound. What you can do: Grab some paper and write down the names of people who have "wronged" you. State their names out loud and say: I forgive and pardon (name). Then Detach. Move on to the next one till you check off your list.
4) Release expectations. Expectations are a sure-fire way to create disappointments in life. They don't just make you sad, they steal your power, choices, and limit your freedom to enjoy life. What you can do: Write down your expectations and go through them one at a time. Say aloud: I release the expectation to X. When done, Detach after each one.
5) Detach from all that does not honor you. Separate yourself from the experiences that do not honor you as they keep you off balance and drain your energy. They also keep you from standing in your integrity. What you can do: Identify the experiences that make you unhappy and keep you off balance. Ask: Does this honor me? Support me? Is there reciprocity? If the answer is No, say Detach and move on.
6) Identify and release your fears. Like all negative energies, fears sap your power and steal your joy. What you can do: To release them, check the Release Your Fears! workshops on my website. We address fear of the unknown and giving power away because both of these are universal energies that everyone experiences. Once these core fears are addressed, you can move more confidently through life and apply these techniques to other fears as needed.
7) Hold no secrets. Secrets create blockages in your heart, throat, and chest area due to shared promises and agreements. What you can do: To release the energy behind secrets, find a quiet spot where you're alone and articulate the essence of these secrets one at a time to NO ONE. Say aloud: I release this secret now and forevermore. Make it so! It is so! Breathe. Then Detach. If you have a wall or hall of secrets to address, one-on-one sessions work best.
8) Use words wisely. In the energy world that surrounds and nourishes you, the spoken words you use every day create your lived experience. What you can do: Be thoughtful about the words you use. Curse words are literally curses. They can tear your energy and the person's energy you curse. To clear them all, schedule a one-on-one session. Once your frequency is high enough, you can clear them on your own.
9) Express gratitude. Sometimes we can get so busy critiquing, we forget to express gratitude for what is and what works. What you can do: Practicing gratitude daily shifts energy from the mind/ego to the heart and enables you to truly see the other person with appreciation. When you speak from the heart and appreciate, people respond in kind.
10) Practice reciprocity. Both giving and receiving are important. However, too many of us believe the adage that it's better to give than to receive. The problem is, if you do that, you'll make friends with takers who will gladly keep you off balance and deplete your energy. What you can do: Focus your intention on opening up the pathways for this (your heart, feet, and hands). To do this, rub your hands together and the bottoms of your feet to clear blocks. Next lightly tap your heart area. Say Detach and you're ready.
11) Create with your heart's magic. If you find yourself saying "I think" all the time, it's likely your mind leads, and your heart follows. What you can do: To shift your intention from thinking to creating with your heart's magic, place your hand on your heart throughout the day, breathe deep several times, and say Center. This centers and grounds you in your heart.
12) Balance work and life with fun. This is a no brainer, but sometimes we need to be reminded. If you haven't made time for fun lately, perhaps it's time to rethink your schedule. When you let your heart lead, you look and feel younger, and you experience less stress. What you can do: Find time for whatever gives you joy. And enjoy it. Your heart will appreciate it.
